PLOT SUMMARY: Lucious, the founder and CEO of a successful record label has been diagnosed with ALS. He must choose one of his three sons to take over the company when he dies. Meanwhile, his ex wife and co-founder, Cookie, has been released from prison and wants to reclaim her rightful place in the company.

Empire huh? A few people have told me that they stopped watching Empire cos it was no longer what it used to be. I was heart broken cos, c'mon!!! It's "EMPIRE"....."FREAKING EMPIRE!!!!" So, I told them off and now I have seen "Empire" season 2. I was probably biased while watching but I tried to put all of that behind me and as much as I tried, I couldn't help losing interest a few times during the course of the movie.
It is still " Empire" like we know it. Cookie is still the mother of all bitches. (Excuse my language). Lucious is still the devil. Jamal is still as cute as ever and as appealing. His brothers are still gunning for the throne and the schemers are still scheming. But the spark is gone. Atleast a part of it. Some might argue that the "Lyon drama" is getting really old. Personally, I did not get that heart- stopping, Jaw- dropping, Mind-blowing vibe that usually comes with watching an episode of "empire".
It has a lot of unnecessary drama and unnecessary people coming into play and please for Pete's sake, Who is in charge of Cookie's wardrobe? Got her dressing like a PIMP. A female pimp.
They did try to end the movie with a bang. Atleast they thought they did.
In all though, most impressively, they have some how managed to keep the central portrait of the plot afloat which is a big plus considering the fact that the movie is kinda going any which way and all the songs they did in that movie are all amazing. (You know I will be downloading😉)
Maybe it is me or the people that got into my head with their opinions but you should see it for yourself. It is still cool and still "FREAKING EMPIRE!!!!"
I will rate it at a 6 outta 10.
P.S: for those who have not seen season 1, this review does not depict it.It is super dope and I heard it gets better in 3.
